ABOUT JOHN THORNHILL (AUTHOR OF AUCTION PROFIT STREAMS)
John Thornhill (aka eBay PowerSeller PlanetSMS) has been selling information products on eBay for many years and has over 10,000 positive feedback comments. He also runs the successful PlanetSMS Newsletter which provides valuable tips to those selling ebooks on eBay.

ABOUT AUCTION PROFIT STREAMS
Inside Auction Profit Streams, the author John Thornhill explains how to use eBay to create multiple income streams which are almost fully automated. With each of the income streams he outlines, John also provides proof of his earnings for that method. The topics covered inside Auction Profit Streams include:

  • Building a list of Subscribers!!
  • The importance of MULTIPLE streams of income!!
  • Your most valuable asset and how to maintain it!!
  • The Pros and Cons of Resell Rights!!
  • The best subjects for Ebooks!!
  • How to create your very own Ebook!!
  • Selling your Ebook Successfully!!
  • How to make money WITHOUT your own Product!!
  • Profiting from Private Label Content!!
  • Becoming an Expert in your field!!

John begins his ebook by explaining the importance of building a mailing list. Throughout the ebook he also suggests potential ways to build your mailing list. Although he doesn’t go into great detail on how to build your mailing list, the point John makes is very valid. With a mailing list you get a potential customer for life which is one of the most important assets you can have. Overall, Auction Profit Streams does offer enough information for you to get your own mailing list started, although there are better ebooks on the topic. However, since this isn’t the main topic of the ebook I feel it is one that John covers more than adequately considering the subject matter.

In the next chapter John moves on to describe your most valuable asset - your eBay feedback. In this section John describes how to keep your feedback above 99% positive. He outlines methods he uses and provides actual examples. John also explains how to get negative feedback removed if need be. This chapter contains very good information and John’s excellent feedback record proves that not only does he use this information himself, but that it is effective.

After a description of why you should be selling information products, John then moves on to the benefits of selling ebooks with resell rights. These are not the typical benefits you would expect such as being easy to obtain, easy to sell or that they are an easy way to make money. Instead John describes the benefits of creating and selling your own ebook which are much more powerful than those already outlined. It is largely because of this section that I have started putting more of an effort into writing my own ebooks with resell rights. John then finishes the chapter with tips on how to make sure your ebook with resell rights sells well. Overall this is an excellent chapter and a real gem for ebook sellers on eBay.

In the next chapter John attempts to answer the question ‘What should I write about?’ In this section he includes a list of information product best sellers. Although this information is good, it is probably information you have read in multiple ebooks before. Therefore, I felt this chapter wasn’t as strong as the previous chapters in Auction Profit Streams.

Following this John moves on to describe how to create your very own ebook. He begins by explaining how to effectively research your chosen ebook topic. Using the fictional topic of “Dog Training” (a topic which John knows nothing about) he shows step-by-step, the process he would follow to research the topic and includes screenshots. John follows this up by writing about how to devise an effective title, what information you should actually put in your ebook and finally how to compile it. This topic is covered very well within this chapter. Although ebooks such as Ebay Auction Income Streams and The One Month Magnate go into more detail on the topic, that is the only thing they focus on. This is just one of many sections in Auction Profit Streams, and therefore I feel John has done a great job of writing down everything you need to do when creating your own ebook. Not only does he cover the basics of creating your ebook but he also includes some additional ideas, allowing your ebook to make you even more money.

Next Auction Profit Streams moves on to describe how to sell your ebook. First, John covers pricing your ebook. He outlines the approximate prices you should be charging depending on what you are trying to achieve with your ebook. Then John tells you how to create a top selling auction title and auction listing/sales page. The auction design tips include; how to design attractive HTML auctions (with links to the relevant tools you will need), what to include in your listing, what not to include in your listing and which fonts and colours to use. Since I have been selling ebooks on eBay for some time a lot of this information is not new to me. However, this chapter is extremely detailed and full of useful information for those who do not know how to design attractive HTML auctions or who do not have much experience selling ebooks on eBay. Furthermore, John provides lots of useful tools for the beginner who may struggle with auction listing design. Overall, the information in this chapter is very detailed and very useful, just not so applicable to the more advanced ebook seller.

In the next chapter John moves on to describe how to promote your products and/or your brand, both before and after a sale. These promotional methods are all effective and free. Although I knew about some of the promotional methods John outlined already, they are still very useful for the beginner. However, John’s focus on how to maximise the effectiveness of your download page contained a lot of new information for me. Prior to reading this ebook I used to just distribute the download link to customers when a sale was made. However, now I direct customers to a download page as I realise the importance of it in a promotional sense. Overall, I found this section very insightful and I learnt something new from it. The information was very valuable to me, even though I have been selling ebooks on eBay for a number of years.

John then moves on to write in detail about private label content and how he uses it. This chapter is again very detailed and in particular the latter section is my favourite. At the moment I do not use private label content, although after reading this section I am likely to start in the near future. At the end of the chapter John outlines how private label content can be used to generate a monthly recurring income which increases each month, an idea I will definitely be following up. In conclusion I found this chapter to be another insightful one from John and full of ideas which I had not considered before.

Auction Profit Streams finishes with the chapters; ‘How to become an expert in your field’, ‘Tips, Tricks, Methods and Secrets’, ‘More Money Making Ideas’ and a ‘Step by Step Guide to creating an Income Stream.’ These mainly sum up the ideas in the ebook and provide the reader with a few additional tips, although they do conclude the ebook nicely.

Overall, I found Auction Profit Streams to be an extremely informative text. Even as an eBay ebook seller of some years I still found new ideas in the ebook which have helped me. The ebook is also very well laid out, and flows in a way so that you can implement the ideas as you read. Whether you are a beginner or a more experienced eBay ebook seller, I am sure you will find some new ideas inside Auction Profit Streams. My only criticism of the ebook is that in certain areas John suggests getting a website and mailing list, but does not describe where you would go to get these tools. Although this is not a problem which affects me, I could imagine relative beginners not knowing where to search for these. Also, some of the information is repeated in John’s newsletter and previous ebooks, although to his credit John does state this inside Auction Profit Streams. Despite these minor criticisms, I would recommend Auction Profit Streams to anyone selling information products on eBay as a must read.

GOOD POINTS

  • Provides you with ideas to create multiple income streams using eBay.
  • Very good information for eBay ebook sellers who are beginners and some new ideas for the more experienced eBay ebook sellers.
  • The chapter on selling ebooks with resell rights is very informative.
  • The section on the importance of the download page provided me with fresh new ideas.
  • The section on private label content will be very useful to me in the future and was a real eye opener.

BAD POINTS

  • There are some promotional methods that John misses out on e.g. Google Adwords.
  • If you have been subscribed to John’s newsletter for some time and/or purchased some of his products, then some of the information in Auction Profit Streams will be repeated.
  • No links to website hosting and mailing list companies are provided.

HOW I HAVE GAINED FROM AUCTION PROFIT STREAMS
The main thing I gained from Auction Profit Streams is the importance of the download page. Previously, I sent customers a link to the actual file for them to download. However, now I send customers to a download page as not only does it look more professional, but it also provides an excellent promotional opportunity. I have also been educated on the value of private label content, and I am sure I will be taking advantage of it in the near future. Furthermore, I am now putting greater effort into writing my own content, as Auction Profit Streams has really outlined the value of this to me. Overall, I have gained significantly from Auction Profit Streams, particularly compared to other ebooks I have reviewed.

The Worn Paper System Review

Sunday, July 15th, 2007

EBOOK DETAILS
File Size: 2.14mb Zipped, 2.18mb Unzipped.
Number of Pages: 44
Format: Adobe Acrobat (.pdf).
Subject: The Worn Paper System is “the average person’s guide to making money on the Internet.” In this ebook Sara Brown discusses the exact blueprint she uses to put together simple, money making websites, time and time again, project after project.

ABOUT SARA BROWN (AUTHOR OF THE WORN PAPER SYSTEM)
Sara Brown is one of the UK’s top Internet Marketers. She runs a variety of websites which can all be accessed from http://www.sara-brown.com/choices/. If you want to know more read her About Me page on eBay or subscribe to her newsletter through her websites.

ABOUT THE WORN PAPER SYSTEM
As a long time newsletter subscriber and repeat customer of Sara Brown’s I snapped up a copy of The Worn Paper System as soon as it was offered to me. This system was initially a diagram scribbled down onto a worn piece of paper and pinned above Sara’s desk. The diagram itself is a result of Sara’s one year research into how to avoid losses and replicate big successes online. Now for the first time ever she has converted it into ebook form. Not only do you get the actual diagram that Sara has used to set up her various money making websites, but she also breaks it down into step by step, easy to follow instructions. To put it in Sara’s words this is “the average person’s guide to making money on the Internet.”

Inside the Worn Paper System Sara tells you:

  • How to create and sell your own Ebook!!
  • How to sell Affiliate Products!!
  • How to create and sell your own Software!!
  • How to use Blogs to promote the above Products!!
  • How to use Forums to promote the above Products!!
  • How to use Viral Reports and Ebooks to promote the above Products!!
  • How to participate in Joint Ventures to promote the above Products!!
  • How to use Articles to promote the above Products!!
  • How to use eBay’s About Me Page to promote the above Products!!
  • How to build a Mailing List to promote the above Products!!
  • The actual diagram that appeared on that worn piece of paper!!

The Worn Paper System begins with Sara explaining how her friend lost his job. The subsequent money earning advice she gave him is exactly what is outlined in The Worn Paper System. She then goes on to tell you that you will need $100 (approximately £50) to pay for website hosting before you begin but this will be the only cost. Following this the Worn Paper System is divided into three basic chapters; “Getting a domain name and Website”, “What will I be Selling”, and “How to make Money.”

The first chapter “Getting a domain name and Website” is clearly aimed at beginners. If you’re completely unfamiliar with this process then you may need to read this bit, but the majority of readers will be able to skip straight to the next chapter “What will I be Selling.”

Sara begins the next chapter entitled “What will I be Selling” by describing the three products she sells online (ebooks, affiliate products, and software) and then how to go about sourcing/creating each of these.

I found the section on selling ebooks very informative. Sara provides effective ideas on how you could create both an Internet Marketing Ebook and a Non-Internet Marketing Ebook of your own. She also provides information on how you can make quite a profit from resellable ebooks in ways that don’t initially spring to mind.

The section on selling affiliate products is not quite as good because it contains a lot of filler such as screenshots of Sara’s affiliate earnings. It does do quite a good job at explaining ClickBank terms such as “Gravity” but overall I didn’t really learn anything new in this section. If you have no idea at all what affiliate programs are and how they work then this section may prove useful but otherwise. Otherwise you will probably be able to skip right past it.

The third section on creating your own software is very good. I found it particularly informative as it explains how you can get your own software created without being a programmer. All you need is the idea. This section is short but to the point and creating my own software using Sara’s methods is an idea I will be looking into in the future.

Following the above three sections Sara moves onto the next chapter “How to make Money.” The chapter on “What will I be Selling” explained how to source/create the products. Now you have the products, “How to make Money” explains how to promote and make money from these products via blogs, forums, viral ebooks, joint ventures, articles, eBay About Me pages, and mailing lists.

Sara begins with blogs and explains how you can use these free tools to sell the above products. The methods Sara explains in this section are simply but effective, and methods that I implement myself as an affiliate. Sara explains how to get your blog set up, what you need to include in it, and how long it will take to set up. Overall, I found this section very good and have myself implemented many of the blogging methods detailed by Sara.

In the next section Sara discusses how to use forums to promote products. I found this section rather short, and the information rather basic. I think most people will already know of the methods identified in this section but it may be useful to the beginner.

Next Sara discusses viral reports and ebooks. This information in this section is quite good and can be used to effectively promote your products. However, like with the section on forums this information is almost common knowledge and therefore is only likely to be useful to beginners.

Following this Sara moves on to discuss using joint ventures to promote the products. I found this section very good because it explains how you can generate a lot of extra sales with very little effort. Sara explains how you can go about arranging your first joint venture. Even if you are a relative beginner and you are just releasing your first product, a successful joint venture with a “guru” can send your sales through the roof in a matter of days.

Articles are the next promotional tool discussed in this chapter. Sara explains how you can submit free articles to the article directories, and use these to promote products. Although articles can be a very effective long-term promotional tool, like with some of the above promotional methods, you are likely to have heard of the methods Sara discusses before. Therefore, this information is likely to be only useful to beginners.

Next Sara moves onto eBay About Me pages. In this section Sara discusses a quite underutilised but effective method for promoting products. It is likely that you have never thought of or been aware of this method. However, when used properly your eBay About Me page can be a great source of extra sales and a great promotional tool. Overall, this section is excellent and contains excellent ideas that can be utilised by anyone who has an eBay account.

In the final section of the chapter Sara moves onto discuss building a mailing list. If you sell online and don’t yet build a mailing list, then you need to start doing so. It is in mine and Sara’s opinion the single most important aspect of Internet Marketing. In this chapter Sara explains; why you need a list, how to build a mailing list effectively, and how to make money from your list. This chapter was one of the best, if not the best in the ebook. If you follow the instructions in this section you should have a mailing list up and running in a matter of days and be making money from the list soon after.

Following the end of chapter three Sara wraps up the ebook with a full page display of her “Worn Paper” diagram. This diagram provides a nice finish to the ebook as it brings all the ideas in the “Worn Paper System” together on one page in an easy to follow flowchart.

Overall, I found that The Worn Paper System contained some good ideas for selling your own products and selling as an affiliate. In particular the sections on selling ebooks, building a mailing list, and using your eBay About Me page effectively all contain excellent information. The ebook itself also provides a great guide on how to start from scratch and set up a steady number of income streams online. The ebook is also laid out very logically meaning that it’s easy to follow and the methods inside can be implemented as you read. The main criticism I have of the ebook is that it is aimed at beginners. Someone who has been practicing Internet Marketing for some time is likely to already know about many of the methods discussed in this ebook. I was fully aware of article marketing, affiliate marketing, building a mailing list, and viral ebooks before I read this ebook. Although I did learn something new about blogging the majority of information was not new to me. Therefore, I would only recommend The Worn Paper System if you are a beginner in Internet Marketing. If you’re a budding Internet Marketer looking where to start then The Worn Paper System provides you with a comprehensive, easy to follow plan, to get your first few income streams up and running. However, if you already know about blogging, article marketing, viral reports and any of the other above topics then you are probably best giving The Worn Paper System a miss.

GOOD POINTS

  • The section on ebooks is very informative and gets the creative juices flowing.
  • The method of getting your own software is one of my favourites in The Worn Paper System. It’s very simple but very effective.
  • The section on blogging is quite informative and was what actually led to me creating my own blogs.
  • All the promotional methods discussed are free so won’t cost you a penny.
  • The ebook is very well laid out and flows in a logical manner meaning it is easy to follow. You can implement the ideas as you read.
  • The “Worn Paper” diagram at the end summarises the ebook very well. It could be used as a useful checklist when launching new websites, internet marketing campaigns etc.

BAD POINTS

  • The section on affiliate marketing contains little useful information. It is little more than a glorified guide to ClickBank terms.
  • There is quite a lot of filler (e.g. earnings screenshots) which I find unnecessary.
  • Although they are effective, you are likely to already know about many of the promotional methods Sara mentions.

HOW I HAVE GAINED FROM THE WORN PAPER SYSTEM
As I have said throughout this interview the majority of this information is common knowledge to me. I already know a good amount about article marketing, affiliate marketing, viral reports etc. However, reading the blogging section of The Worn Paper System did lead me to setting up my own blogs, an idea which I had overlooked in the past. Sara’s method of creating your own software is also one I may be taking advantage of in the future.

Ebay Auction Income Streams Review

Ebay Auction Income Streams!!

EBOOK DETAILS
File Size: 628kb Zipped, 829kb Unzipped.
Number of Pages: 1 long scrolling page.
Format: Executable (.exe)
Subject: Ebay Auction Income Streams tells you how to set up your own income streams using eBay auctions. It also goes by the name of ‘I would like to give you my Income.’

ABOUT SARA BROWN (AUTHOR OF EBAY AUCTION INCOME STREAMS)
Sara Brown is one of the UK’s top Internet Marketers. She runs a variety of websites which can all be accessed from http://www.sara-brown.com/choices/. If you want to know more read her About Me page on eBay or subscribe to her newsletter through her websites.

ABOUT EBAY AUCTION INCOME STREAMS
After reading An Interview with Sara Brown I was intrigued by her unique income generating methods and had to know more. This led me to purchase her first ebook “Ebay Auction Income Streams.” This ebook quite simply tells you how to set up your own auction income streams on eBay - auctions that provide you with a regular income for as long as you need.

In the ebook Sara discusses:

  • Why she believes we are being conned by working in a Job!!
  • What an Ebay Auction Income Stream actually is!!
  • Where people go wrong on eBay!!
  • How to make money on eBay with ebooks!!
  • The best subjects to write ebooks on!!
  • The process she uses to write her own ebooks!!
  • The process she uses to sell her ebooks!!

Ebay Auction Income Streams begins with a quite long description of why Sara believes we are being conned by working in jobs 9-5, 40 hours a week. I can tell that this is one subject that she is very passionate about. Following this Sara discusses resell rights and then gets on to the main body of the ebook which is all about researching, writing, and selling your own ebook.

As expected I found this ebook to be a very interesting read. Ebay Auction Income Streams gives you real workable methods that can be used to get you earning from eBay in the near future. I found the best bit of the ebook to be the section on researching your own ebook. Even if you thought that you didn’t have anything to write an ebook about, after reading this section you WILL be able to write your own ebook on a profitable subject. What’s more, you can be sure that these methods work because Sara shows you how she is implementing them herself.

I agree with Sara, that anyone following her methods has the ability to create a profitable ebook that they can be selling on eBay in a number of weeks. I also believe that everyone who is not yet earning money on the Internet SHOULD try these methods that Sara outlines. Why? Because the big advantage of setting up your own Ebay Auction Income Stream is that once set up, the rest is virtually automated. All you have to do is relist the auction and maybe tweak it slightly from time to time. With many other products on eBay you have to keep an inventory, package, post, and sometimes replace items but with Ebay Auction Income Streams you can avoid all that.

Although this is a good ebook I do have some criticisms. Firstly, I do not agree with Sara’s view on resell rights but then this is a subject on which many people disagree. I believe that they can be used and sold effectively on eBay but Sara believes that you should control the rights to your own ebooks. Sara’s view does hold true in some situations but products with resell rights still have a purpose.

Also I found the delivery to be slightly inconvenient compared to other ebooks. Although this is not a direct ebook criticism it does impact on the purchasing process. Sara does explain that this system is to prevent unauthorised theft and copying of the ebook, but it does slow down the whole process of getting to read the ebook. Basically when you purchase the ebook you get access to a download page but upon opening the ebook you are told to email Sara with a special code. She then sends you a password to the ebook. Although it took less than an hour to receive the password I did find this delivery system slightly annoying when I was expecting instant access to the ebook.

Overall, Ebay Auction Income Streams is a good text to read if you have been thinking about writing an ebook for a while and need some inspiration. After reading it you will know which topics are the most profitable to write upon and how to effectively research these topics for an ebook. Although I don’t agree with all Sara’s views I still agree that this is a great method for generating and profiting from your own ebooks.

GOOD POINTS

  • Provides you with a method for researching, creating, and selling profitable ebooks.
  • Sara shows how she herself has implemented her ideas.
  • Once set up Ebay Auction Income Streams are virtually automated.
  • Comes with a free link to Sara’s resource website.
  • Comes with full email support in setting up your first Income Stream.

BAD POINTS

  • Similar information to The One Month Magnate.
  • Only focuses on eBay sales when off eBay sales may be more profitable.
  • I don’t personally agree with Sara’s view on resell rights.
  • The delivery system delays access to your ebook which I found quite annoying.

HOW I HAVE GAINED FROM EBAY AUCTION INCOME STREAMS
Ebay Auction Income Streams is one of the ebooks that pushed me to create my own product. Although I did not use all of Sara’s ideas to create my ebook I still had a product which was mine at the end of it. The One Month Magnate Review

Sunday, July 15th, 2007

The One Month Magnate!!

EBOOK DETAILS
File Size: 1.55mb Unzipped.
Number of Pages: 1 long scrolling page.
Format: Executable (.exe)
Subject: The One Month Magnate is a step by step guide to how Tony Shepherd created a product to sell on the internet starting from scratch. That means no mailing list and no website, just his past experience.

ABOUT TONY SHEPHERD (AUTHOR OF THE ONE MONTH MAGNATE)
Tony Shepherd is one of the UK’s most private Internet Marketers. Co-owner of Laycock Publishing with marketing guru Sara Brown, Tony has written several books and made his living from the Internet for a number of years. Tony usually writes under different names and keeps his private life away from work, making sure the latter is kept to a minimum.

ABOUT THE ONE MONTH MAGNATE
The One Month Magnate shows how Tony Shepherd given a computer and an Internet connection went from earning nothing to over $4,000 in 30 days. He did not use a website or his mailing list. The ebook tells in great detail, with screenshots and links, how Tony did this. He divulges all the tools he used and exactly how he did it. In his own word “I follow this blueprint every time I’m setting up a new business.”

In the ebook Tony discusses:

  • How most Internet users willingly tell you what they’re prepared to pay money for, without you even realising!!
  • How experience is NOT Important!!
  • The blueprint he uses to launch all his new businesses!!
  • Why he will never work for an Employer again!!
  • How he did it EXACTLY including the EXACT amount of money earned, and the EXACT way he implemented the blueprint, with screenshots to illustrate this!!
  • How to become an Expert in your chosen field!!
  • How to use free gifts to make Money!!
  • How experts can help you make money for Free!!
  • What he would have done the following month to increase his Profits!!

The process Tony follows involves three main stages; Research, Becoming an Expert, and Marketing and Selling the Product. In the research stage, Tony tells you all the tools he uses to decide upon and research his product. Then he tells you about the sources he uses to become an expert in this field. Finally, Tony tells you the methods he would use to market and sell his product (without a website remember). On top of this there is even a bonus section outlining what Tony would have done if he had an extra 11 days to market his product.

Upon reading this ebook I was very impressed. Firstly, impressed about the amount of money Tony actually made, and secondly I was impressed about the level of honesty and detail within the ebook. Tony tells you exactly what he did and what he didn’t. For example, Tony admits that he didn’t set up a website to promote his product because he didn’t have time. It definitely gives you an interesting idea on how 30 days hard work could potentially provide you with a regular income. My favourite part of this ebook was definitely the bit on becoming an expert in thirty days. Tony estimates that by using his research methods he knew more on his chosen subject than 90% of people, and that was in just a few days. Imagine the potential this information has when you apply it to creating your own product.

My only criticism of this ebook is that it’s aimed at readers who have a reasonable knowledge of Internet Marketing. You will need to know how to use forums, how to create the product you decide upon, and how to accept payments online. The problem with this approach is that although a lot of Internet Marketing methods are mentioned they are not covered in much depth. Therefore, if you are a beginner in the Internet Marketing field you may be better off reading an ebook such as The Rich Jerk before you start on The One Month Magnate.

Also I found the delivery to be slightly inconvenient compared to other ebooks. Although this is not a direct ebook criticism it does impact on the purchasing process. Tony does explain that this system is to prevent unauthorised theft and copying of the ebook, but it does slow down the whole process of getting to read the ebook. Basically when you purchase the ebook you get access to a download page but upon opening the ebook you are told to email Tony with a special code. He then sends you a password to the ebook. Although it took less than an hour to receive the password I did find this delivery system slightly annoying when I was expecting instant access to the ebook.

Overall, I would highly recommend this ebook for those who are reasonably well versed in Internet Marketing. It provides one of the most in-depth looks I have come across on researching, promoting, and selling a product on the Internet, in such a short period. Obviously, if you had longer you would be able to market your product in much greater depth and perhaps use more methods to do so, but given the short-time period, this is a seriously impressive ebook.

GOOD POINTS

  • Gives readers a step by step system with screenshots that can easily be applied to almost any product.
  • The section on how to become an expert with no prior knowledge of the field is particularly useful. With this information, the products you could release are virtually limitless.
  • All the methods of promotion outlined are very effective yet require no financial expenditure.
  • The methods used will generate residual income i.e. Tony would have generated at least the same amount of money every consecutive month, following this blueprint.
  • The style of writing is to the point and easy to follow.
  • The text is broken up by images making it easier to read.

BAD POINTS

  • The ebook is mainly aimed at the short-term even though Tony does say what he would have done in the next 10 days (medium-term). It does not discuss more long-term forms of Internet Marketing.
  • Although it touches on a lot of key Internet Marketing methods, it does not go into great detail on them.
  • It leaves you wondering what other ebooks Tony Shepherd has written (under his other aliases) with no way to find out.
  • The delivery system delays your access to the ebook which I found quite annoying.

HOW I HAVE GAINED FROM THE ONE MONTH MAGNATE
The One Month Magnate is one of the ebooks that pushed me to create my own product. Although I have not yet created a successful ebook in one month like Tony, The One Month Magnate I still have a successful product. I did not use all of Tony’s ideas and certainly did not implement them as fast as he did but I still have an ebook at the end of it. You can check out my first major ebook “How to set up a Successful, Automated, Ebook Business on eBay” at http://www.theebookcavern.co.uk/.

An Interview with Sara Brown Review

An Interview with Sara Brown!!

EBOOK DETAILS
File Size: 455kb Ziped, 513kb Unzipped.
Number of Pages: 36
Format: Adobe Acrobat (.pdf)
Subject: Interview Ebook with Sara Brown (see about the author for more details)
Other Information: Also comes with “Internet Marketing Success: Off the Record” - An interview with Tony Shepherd” who is author of ‘The One Month Magnate.’ This interview ebook is 18 pages long.

ABOUT SARA BROWN
Sara Brown is one of the UK’s top Internet Marketers. She runs a variety of websites which can all be accessed from http://www.sara-brown.com/choices/. If you want to know more read her About Me page on eBay or subscribe to her newsletter through her websites.

ABOUT AN INTERVIEW WITH SARA BROWN
The title of the ebook pretty much explains what this ebook is; An Interview with Sara Brown. Inside Sara divulges a lot of key information which many an Internet Marketer would find useful. In the ebook Sara discusses:

  • Her best discovery about the Internet!!
  • The best discovery of her Life!!
  • Her previous Jobs!!
  • The formula she uses to launch a New Product!!
  • Where she gets her Ideas!!
  • How easy it is to set up an Income Stream!!
  • Her first major success in Internet Marketing!!
  • The most important money making skill a person can have as an Internet Marketer!!
  • Why some people aren’t successful Online!!
  • Some of the real life income streams she has used in the past and uses Today!!

I found this ebook an interesting read. Although it is not the most in depth Internet Marketing ebook out there it gave me some useful ideas to consider. The ebook starts with general questions about Sara’s past achievements, jobs, and income streams. Towards the middle of the ebook and until the end Sara talks in detail about some of the income streams she has set up in the past.

The most interesting parts of the ebook I found were about Sara’s offline income streams. These are a classic example of an idea that involved ‘Thinking Outside the Box’ and ones that get your mind rolling for similar ideas. One of them was an ingenious idea involving a car boot sale and the other involving winches. She also talks about one of her online income streams involving getting babies to sleep, a subject that Sara again had very little knowledge of before she started up the income stream. Other interesting things covered in this ebook include the rumour that Sara Brown is in fact Tony Shepherd.

My only criticism of this ebook is that there are no actual systems that you can follow. Although Sara does make reference to some of the income streams she has set up, she does not provide instructions on how to implement them in this ebook. Since this is an interview ebook I expected as much, and really this is more of a criticism of interview ebooks in general than this particular title.

Overall, you have probably already decided whether you want to purchase this ebook. If you are looking for step by step systems that will make you money online, then this is not that ebook. If however, you want to gain a better insight into the life of a top Internet Marketer then this ebook is worth picking up.

GOOD POINTS

  • Provides real life examples of income streams Sara has used both on and offline to generate an income.
  • An additional interview ebook with Tony Shepherd is provided absolutely FREE.
  • Relatively low priced in comparison to similar ebooks.

BAD POINTS

  • Since it is an interview ebook it does not provide you with actual systems you can implement.
  • Relatively short when compared to other ebooks (only 36 pages).

HOW I HAVE GAINED FROM AN INTERVIEW WITH SARA BROWN
The main thing I gained from An Interview with Sara Brown is from her offline income streams. This got me thinking about ways that I could make money offline. This in turn led me to research ways I could make money offline in an area that I had expertise. A quick search of the forums helped me formulate a simple idea which was initially spawned from reading this interview.

How to turn Auction Traffic into Cash!!

EBOOK DETAILS
File Size: 1,071kb Zipped, 1,122b Unzipped.
Number of Pages: 45
Format: Adobe Acrobat (.pdf)
Subject: A guide to using eBay traffic to create a lifetime customer base for virtually any business.

ABOUT JIM COCKRUM (AUTHOR OF HOW TO TURN AUCTION TRAFFIC INTO CASH)
The author Jim Cockrum, is a self confessed eBay freak. He also runs “Creative Ebay Selling,” the Internets largest eBay success newsletter with over 90,000 subscribers and growing by the day. Jim has helped launch multiple internet businesses and has used the internet as his sole source of income since 2002.

ABOUT HOW TO TURN AUCTION TRAFFIC INTO CASH
How to turn Auction Traffic into Cash is Jim Cockrum’s followup to the hugely successful The Silent Sales Machine Hiding on eBay. Just like it’s predecessor, How to turn Auction Traffic into Cash is a guide to gaining massively from eBay’s huge amounts of traffic. This time instead of using this traffic to promote Silent Sales Machines, Jim shows you how to use this traffic to build up your mailing list. eBay gets 1.5 billion page views per month, there are over 100 million members, and 80,000 people sign up every day, so it is one of the best but also most under utilised sources of traffic available to any seller. The topics covered in How to turn Auction Traffic into Cash include:

  • The real power of eBay!!
  • The rules of the eBay game!!
  • Tapping into the power step by step!!
  • A step by step guide to setting up your newsletter and subscription forms on eBay whilst complying with eBay policy!!

How to turn Auction Traffic into Cash is primarily aimed at those who are currently limited to selling solely on eBay. If you are in this situation then it is most likely that you view your business activities as “If I sell one item on eBay I get one buyer and one sale” (I know I was). Jim however, says that “One auction can potentially bring you hundreds of buyers before, during, and after the sale WITHOUT violating eBay policy.” He then expands on this into the main body of the ebook which shows you (with illustrations) how to convert this eBay traffic into a mailing list, which is one of the keys to long-term success online.

Like with The Silent Sales Machine Hiding on eBay the main selling point of this ebook is that you can utilise the huge amounts of traffic on eBay in unique and inventive ways. How to turn Auction Traffic into Cash focuses on how to use this traffic to build up your mailing list. This concept in my opinion is the best part of the ebook and a great selling point. No other ebook author I have come across explains how to use eBay traffic in this way. After reading How to turn Auction Traffic into Cash you will be surprised at how simple these ideas really are, and you won’t believe that you managed to overlook them for so long. Even though the ideas are simple, they are still effective and unique, and some of the best ones I have seen from an ebook author in a long while.

My only criticism of How to turn Auction Traffic into Cash is that like with The Silent Sales Machine Hiding on eBay, certain claims are exaggerated whilst others are played down. In particular, implementing the ideas requires that you invest quite a lot of time and effort initially and it will also create an additional expense for your business (in paying the autoresponder fees). These factors are played down quite a lot within How to turn Auction Traffic into Cash. On the other hand the results gained from implementing these ideas are exaggerated slightly. Although I am not disputing that the ideas work (because they definitely do), their effectiveness is overplayed.

Overall, if you are willing to put the time and effort in, then you will find this How to turn Auction Traffic into Cash useful. If you are quite happy with your current eBay sales and do not want to expand outside of eBay then this ebook is not for you.

GOOD POINTS

  • If you are currently only selling on eBay and not following up on auction visitors, How to turn Auction Traffic into Cash lays wide open the huge opportunities you are missing out on.
  • How to turn Auction Traffic into Cash tells you utilise eBay’s huge levels of traffic, and build up a mailing list, (which in turn provides you with many benefits), whilst sticking to eBay policy.
  • The ebook provides a step-by-step guide to setting up a newsletter system in your eBay auctions complete with screen shots. Even if you are completely unfamiliar with webforms you will find this guide easy to follow.
  • Building up a mailing list of subscribers provides you with many benefits including customer loyalty, customer trust, a highly targeted source of traffic, and the ability to sell products outside of eBay (meaning no eBay fees).
  • Once the webforms and followup messages are in place, building your mailing list is virtually automated. All you have to do is write the broadcast messages when you want to do a mass-mailing to your list.

BAD POINTS

  • To build a mailing list requires additional monthly expenditure on an autoresponder service.
  • If you are running lots of auctions they will all need to be edited to implement these ideas, which can be very time consuming.
  • The growth rate of your mailing list when using these methods is slightly exaggerated in this ebook.

HOW I HAVE GAINED FROM HOW TO TURN AUCTION TRAFFIC INTO CASH
How to turn Auction Traffic into Cash is the ebook that led to me setting up my own mailing list. Prior to this I had been using eBay’s basic Shop Newsletter tool which really cannot compete with a proper autoresponder service. Since I now run multiple websites as well as an eBay store, a newsletter is really the best way to communicate to all my visitors. Using the ideas in How to turn Auction Traffic into Cash I have been able to place web sign up forms on all my eBay pages as well as all my website pages, which has allowed me to maximise my subscription rate.

The Silent Sales Machine!!

EBOOK DETAILS
File Size: 1,709kb Zipped, 2,383kb Unzipped.
Number of Pages: 136
Format: Adobe Acrobat (.pdf)
Subject: A guide to using eBay traffic to create “Silent Sales Machines.”

ABOUT JIM COCKRUM (AUTHOR OF THE SILENT SALES MACHINE)
The author Jim Cockrum, is a self confessed eBay freak. He also runs “Creative Ebay Selling,” the Internets largest eBay success newsletter with over 90,000 subscribers and growing by the day. Jim has helped launch multiple internet businesses and has used the internet as his sole source of income since 2002.

ABOUT THE SILENT SALES MACHINE HIDING ON EBAY
The Silent Sales Machine Hiding on eBay is a guide on how to gaining massively from the huge levels of eBay traffic. eBay gets 1.5 billion page views per month, there are over 100 million members, and 80,000 people sign up every day, so it is one of the best but also most under utilised sources of traffic available to any seller. The topics covered include:

  • How to earn Money!!
  • How to gain a customer for life!!
  • One of Jim’s Silent Sales Machines dissected!!
  • How to utilise your About Me page effectively!!
  • How to get traffic to your Silent Sales Machine!!
  • Improving your Silent Sales Machine!!
  • How to utilise all the above on eBay whilst sticking to eBay policy!!

On top of the main content Jim has also included huge amounts of bonus content with his ebook. This includes “What should I sell on eBay” which is a collection of thousands of creative ideas submitted by Jim’s newsletter subscribers, and “Power Tips for eBay Sellers” which is a collection of useful tips for eBay sellers plus four bonus articles.

The Silent Sales Machine Hiding on eBay is definitely aimed at those who are currently limited to selling solely on eBay. If you are in this situation then it is most likely that you view your business activities as “If I sell one item on eBay I get one buyer and one sale” (I know I was). Jim however, says that “One auction can potentially bring you hundreds of buyers before, during, and after the sale WITHOUT violating eBay policy.” He then expands on this by dissecting one of his Silent Sales Machines to show you how he did it, and then providing many more creative ideas that you could possibly use to set up your own Silent Sales Machine using this principle.

Like with How to turn Auction Traffic Cash the main selling point of this ebook is that you can utilise the huge amounts of traffic on eBay in unique and inventive ways. The Silent Sales Machine Hiding on eBay focuses on how to use this traffic to generate extra sales. This concept in my opinion is the best part of the ebook and a great selling point. No other ebook author I have come across explains how to use eBay traffic in this way. After reading The Silent Sales Machine Hiding on eBay you will be surprised at how simple these ideas really are, and you won’t believe that you managed to overlook them for so long. Even though the ideas are simple, they are still effective and unique, and some of the best ones I have seen from an ebook author in a long while.

My only criticism of this ebook is that if you have only been selling on eBay then you will probably have to do quite a lot of research into setting up your own website, affiliate marketing, and other ways in which you can create Silent Sales Machines that match your current product. Also the effectiveness of these Silent Sales Machines is slightly exaggerated in the ebook. The ideas do work but you are unlikely to achieve the level of success outlined in this ebook.

Overall, if you can put in the time and effort then the ideas in the Silent Sales Machine are definitely worthwhile. If you are content with your eBay sales alone and are not looking to expand then you’re probably best off leaving this one on the shelf.

GOOD POINTS

  • If you are currently only selling on eBay, The Silent Sales Machine Hiding on eBay lays wide open the huge opportunities you are missing out on, by not looking at the bigger picture.
  • The Silent Sales Machine Hiding on eBay provides you with methods that will direct the huge amounts of traffic on eBay, to your product outside of eBay, whilst sticking to eBay policy.
  • The huge amount of creative ideas listed mean you should be able to think of a Silent Sales Machine that you can run alongside your current product and seriously increase your sales.
  • Setting up Silent Sales Machines balances the risk of your business. If your business on eBay is not doing so well this is weighed up against your business off eBay which may be doing better and vice versa.
  • Once set up, most Silent Sales Machines are virtually automated, providing you with a regular income for weeks, months, or even years to come.

BAD POINTS

  • A lot of time, effort, and research can be required initially to set up an effective Silent Sales Machine.
  • Although a website is not essential for some Silent Sales Machines, most of them do require one, which is an added expense. You may also need to acquire new skills (such as HTML programming) in order to set up your website.
  • You may have to become familiar with using affiliate programs in order to set up your Silent Sales Machine.
  • The benefits gained from setting up a Silent Sales Machine are slightly over-exaggerated in this ebook.

HOW I HAVE GAINED FROM THE SILENT SALES MACHINE HIDING ON EBAY
The Silent Sales Machine Hiding on eBay is the ebook that convinced me to finally get a website. Prior to this I simply thought; “I have an eBay store with its own URL and that’s enough.” However, once set up I quickly realised the benefits I had been missing out on by not having a website. Not only could I use it to promote my eBay store, and use my eBay store to promote my website, but taking this first step led me to look at even more ways of setting up Silent Sales Machines outside of eBay. I now firmly believe that everyone who sells on eBay should set up their own website. This is for a variety of reasons but definitely the largest being “Spreading the Risk.” I know it is unlikely, and won’t happen in the near future, but what if eBay goes out of business? Without a website you would go out of business too?

The Rich Jerk Review

The Rich Jerk!!

EBOOK DETAILS
File Size: 1,116kb Zipped, 688kb Unzipped.
Number of Pages: 63
Format: Adobe Acrobat (.pdf)
Subject: A guide to making money on the Internet.

ABOUT THE RICH JERK
If you have seen his website then you probably think that the Rich Jerk is some arrogant, rude, jerk. Aside from that little is known about the true identity of the Rich Jerk. He does make quite regular posts in his blog located at http://www.therichjerk.com/blog/ which does give you an insight. He has also held the top spot on ClickBank and generated much hype with the launch of his ebook. Other than that the Rich Jerk and his identity is still shrouded in mystery.

ABOUT THE RICH JERK’S GUIDE TO MAKING MONEY ON THE INTERNET
“The Rich Jerk’s Guide to making Money on the Internet” (to give the ebook its full name) details seven ideas you can use to make money on the internet which are:

  • Creating an Affiliate Website!!
  • Search Engine Pay Per Click (PPC) Strategies!!
  • Search Engine Optimisation!!
  • Selling your own Information Product!!
  • Buying wholesale and selling on eBay!!
  • Websites you can make Profitable Right Now!!
  • Other Online Ventures to Consider!!
  • Supplemental Info for Beginners!!

For each of the above topics the Rich Jerk explains how you would go about setting them up. In the section below I will review the ebook on a chapter by chapter basis, and then provide my overall opinion on the ebook.

The first chapter “Creating an Affiliate Website” is in my opinion one of the best chapters in the book. It begins with a list of affiliate networks that the Rich Jerk recommends which he ranks as; ‘1) Must Join’, ‘2) Maybe Join’, and ‘3) Join If Bored.’ Once you have chosen your affiliate program, he then goes on to explain how to write your sales letter. In this section he provides five excellent tips (plus an optional sixth) which can be applied to almost any sales copy. The Rich Jerk then provides an example sales letter that incorporates all the steps from this chapter. The chapter is then rounded off with some additional affiliate tips and some affiliate website building tools. Overall, this chapter rates as one of the best in the ebook. It provides you with easy to follow, step by step instructions, which you can easily implement with the minimum of effort. The only criticism I have of this chapter is that one of the tips to get extra affiliate commissions is against ClickBank policy. I was implementing this tip for a few months but ClickBank did pick up on it and make me change my web pages. I cannot reveal what the tip is, but aside from this chapter one still remains one of the best in the ebook.

The second chapter is “Search Engine Pay Per Click (PPC) Strategies.” The chapter begins by explaining PPC search engines and then goes on to highlight; ‘The Biggies’, and the ‘Best of the Rest.’ The Rich Jerk then goes on to explain the difference between Google Adsense and Google Adwords. Following on from this he outlines a simple strategy for making money with Google Adsense, a simple strategy for selling products (affiliated or your own) via Google Adwords, and a Traffic Middleman Strategy. Although the basic information is there to implement each of these strategies I did find it quite weak. The adsense strategy for example, does not explain how to optimise your page in order to make the most money via adsense - it simply tells you to optimise your page. The section on Google Adwords is also very basic and would not be useful for anyone above beginner level. Overall, this chapter does contain the bare essentials to make money using PPC search engines. However, the level of detail means that this chapter is of little use to anyone other than beginners.

The third chapter is “Search Engine Optimisation.” Chapter three improves on the previous chapter by providing more detailed information that can be easily implemented for free. The chapter begins with a section on Incoming Links and how to obtain them. Next the Rich Jerk discusses Page Content and how to use it properly. He then moves on to discuss some Miscelaneous SEO Strategies, which provides you with a few quick tips on how to optimise your pages for Google (based on the latest results). Finally, the Rich Jerk discusses Cloaking a controversial strategy that is apparently very effective (I wouldn’t know as I have never tried it). Overall, this was another good chapter. In particular the section on Incoming Links is one that I have found very useful and borrowed from a lot. The only problem with this chapter is the controversial issue of Cloaking. Not only does it cost a lot of money to cloak a domain ($2,000 for the software that the Rich Jerk recommends) but it can also lead to your domain getting banned by search engines. However, to give the Rich Jerk credit he does outline all the risks associated with Cloaking.

The fourth chapter covers “Selling your own Information Product.” In this chapter the Rich Jerk provides tips on; ‘Creating your Product’, ‘Building your Website’, ‘Getting Affiliates to Promote your Product’, ‘Getting Affiliates to Promote your Product’ and much more. This fourth chapter is very similar to chapter two in that it covers the basics of selling your own informational product but doesn’t go into detail. It contains the basics but if you want a more detailed guide to creating your own information product I would recommend either Ebay Auction Income Streams or The One Month Magnate.

The fifth chapter is “Buying Wholesale and Selling on eBay.” In this chapter the Rich Jerk provides a selection of tips for those new to wholesaling which will help you stop being scammed. One particularly useful resource in this chapter is a tool that tells you where recipients of your email are located at the time they open your email e.g. if someone claims to be from the US you can make sure of this, and if they are not from the US you avoid a potential scam. This is another great chapter providing you with all you need to know to start making a profit with wholesale goods on eBay. I only have one small criticism that as a UK resident there are no wholesale sources I could use, but that is to be expected from a US based product.

The sixth chapter is “Websites you can make Profitable Right Now.” In this chapter the Rich Jerk provides a brief outline of a profitable website you could make for yourself. However, the highlight of the chapter is ‘Websites that made me over $1 Million.’ In this section, the Rich Jerk describes how he made over $1 million from a couple of his sites (which he has now sold). Although this chapter does not contain many practical ideas it is interesting to learn which websites made the Rich Jerk money.

The seventh chapter is “Other Online Ventures to Consider.” This short chapter is in my opinion one of the worst in the ebook. Not only is it short and basic but it just recommends some investment programs. The chapter seems really out of place, like it was thrown in by the Rich Jerk as some filler for the end of the ebook. I’m not saying these methods don’t work, but investment programs are not something I would place under the ‘Make Money on the Internet’ market.

The eighth and final chapter of the Rich Jerk provides “Supplemental Info for Beginners.” In this chapter the Rich Jerk breaks down some of his strategies to step by step basics in order to help the beginners. In this section the Rich Jerk discusses; ‘Building a Website’, ‘Placing Affiliate Tracking Codes on your Website’, ‘Affiliate Networks and what they are’, ‘Google Adwords’, ‘Google Adsense’ and much more. This chapter was of little use to me as I am not a beginner. However, I can see how this chapter would aid a beginner just getting started on the internet. The detailed step by step instructions are ideal for beginners as they provide the level of description that is required by those new to internet marketing.

Overall, the Rich Jerk is a good ebook for those new to Internet Marketing as it gets you thinking about how to set up multiple income streams on the Internet, which is essential for long-term success. It also provides you with enough information to set up each of the above income streams on your own. If you are just starting out in the Internet Marketing field then I would highly recommend this ebook. I know as well as anyone that when you start out and hear all the talk of Google Adwords, Google Adsense, Affiliate Programs, Pay per Click etc etc, it can all seem a bit daunting and you don’t know where to start. The Rich Jerk explains all these methods and gives you some brief recommendations on where to start.

However, if you want to take each income stream to the next level you will likely have to purchase an ebook related to that stream e.g. an ebook specialising in Google Adwords. The main problem with the Rich Jerk, is that it’s aimed mainly at beginners, and therefore lacks depth. If you are thinking of setting up one or more of the above income streams then the Rich Jerk is a good beginners guide, but if you are reasonably knowledgeable in the above fields then the Rich Jerk is unlikely to tell you anything new. When I purchased this ebook I was relatively unfamiliar with Internet Marketing outside of eBay so the Rich Jerk proved a useful reference point for me to expand my websites. If you are relatively experienced however, the lack of depth will be easily apparent to you.

To summarise, the level of benefit you would gain from this ebook comes down to your level of experience in Internet Marketing. If your just getting started and want an overview of all the options available to you for making money online then The Rich Jerk is an excellent text. However, if you have already been operating online for some time and know the ins and outs of Internet Marketing your money will be best spent elsewhere.

GOOD POINTS

  • A very good starting point for beginners in Internet Marketing.
  • Provides a variety of useful, applicable ideas for making money on the Internet.
  • The language is concise and straight to the point with no technical jargon.
  • As a reader you are unlikely to have thought about all the possible money making strategies detailed in this ebook.
  • The ebook design is very professional and easy on the eye.

BAD POINTS

  • It is aimed at the beginner so if you are looking to specialise in one particular area this ebook will not be useful.
  • Lacks depth in certain areas and some issues are merely skimmed over.
  • Some of the ‘black hat’ techniques are frowned upon by search engines.

HOW I HAVE GAINED FROM THE RICH JERK’S GUIDE TO MAKING MONEY ON THE INTERNET
As I have already stated, prior to reading the Rich Jerk I only sold ebooks on eBay. Reading the Rich Jerk opened my eyes to the importance of Internet Marketing outside of eBay. In particular I began to use Google Adsense and ClickBank’s Affiliate Program on my websites. I also began to promote my website through Article Submission (one of the best ways to drive free traffic to your website) and Pay per Click Advertising. Without reading the Rich Jerk I would never have considered these avenues for my business or even been aware of them.
